Getting Started
Do I need a whitelist?
No. uHOOT is fully permissionless. Anyone can buy and receive a Hoot automatically through Uniswap, Axiom, or any other Ethereum trading terminal. No whitelist, no pre-registration, no invites.
How do I get a Hoot?
Buy uHOOT through Uniswap, Axiom, or any other Ethereum trading terminal. When your swap confirms, a Hoot is minted directly to your wallet at Egg stage. No separate mint transaction, no gas for a second step. The buy is the mint.
What wallet do I need?
MetaMask, Coinbase Wallet, Rainbow, and other Ethereum wallets all work. You just need ETH on mainnet to swap.
What is uHOOT exactly?
uHOOT is both an ERC-20 token and a generative object system built on Uniswap v4. Holding tokens means owning a Hoot. The token and the NFT are the same thing. There's no separate contract to call.
How the Hook Works
What is a Uniswap v4 hook?
A v4 hook is custom code embedded directly into a Uniswap pool. Every time you swap on the uHOOT pool, the hook fires automatically after the trade settles. This is how Hoots are minted and burned without any extra steps.
What happens on-chain when I buy?
Your swap executes on the Uniswap v4 pool. Immediately after, the afterSwap hook fires and reads how many full uHOOT tokens you received. It then mints that many Hoots to your address, all in the same transaction. The hook also updates the entropy seed used for future trait generation.
What happens on-chain when I sell?
The afterSwap hook detects tokens leaving your wallet back to the pool. It burns the corresponding Hoots. The burn is permanent and atomic with the sell transaction.
Is there any way to mint without buying?
No. Minting only triggers through the pool hook. There is no public mint function and no airdrop mechanism. Hoots only exist because someone bought them from the pool.
Supply & Ownership
What is the total supply?
5,000 uHOOT tokens (5,000 × 10¹⁸ in ERC-20 terms). That is the hard cap. No more can ever be created. At most 5,000 Hoots can exist simultaneously, one per full token held.
What's the difference between buying 1 uHOOT and buying 0.4 uHOOT?
Only whole tokens mint Hoots. Buying 1 uHOOT mints 1 Hoot. Buying 0.4 uHOOT delivers the tokens to your wallet but mints 0 Hoots since the fractional amount is below the threshold. Buying 2.7 uHOOT mints 2 Hoots, with the 0.7 remainder as tokens only. As the price rises, most buys become fractional and fewer Hoots are minted per trade. Scarcity is price-implied.
Can I own multiple Hoots?
Yes. Each full token you buy mints one Hoot. Multiple purchases accumulate multiple Hoots, each with its own growth clock and trait seed. They grow independently.
Is there a buy limit?
During the first 5 hours after launch, each buy mints at most 15 Hoots regardless of how many tokens you receive. Your tokens arrive in full either way. Only the Hoot count is capped. After 5 hours the cap lifts completely.
The 15-Hoot limit exists to prevent a single wallet from sweeping a large share of all Hoots in the opening minutes. Without it, one buyer could drain hundreds of Hoots in a single transaction before anyone else gets a chance. The cap keeps early distribution spread across more wallets. Once the launch window closes, there are no restrictions.
Mechanics
Anti-sniper and whale measures
uHOOT launches with a 25% tax that drops by 1% every 5 minutes until it hits 0%. The full wind-down takes just over two hours.
This exists to neutralize snipers and block whales from sweeping supply at launch price. Anyone trying to enter and immediately flip loses 25% on the way in. That's not a profitable trade. A whale trying to grab a large share in the first block faces the same cost. The tax makes it painful to extract value early and rewards those who are actually here for the project. By the time the tax reaches zero, the initial rush has settled and the pool belongs to genuine holders.
What happens when I sell?
Your Hoot burns permanently. Selling uHOOT tokens back to the pool destroys the associated Hoot. It cannot be recovered. The object and the token are the same thing. You can't sell one and keep the other.
If you're at Fledgling stage (or any stage) and sell, that Hoot and all its progress are gone. The traits, the growth, the stage are all destroyed. If you buy again, you receive a brand new Egg with a new seed and a fresh growth clock. There is no way to resume a burned Hoot.
What happens when I transfer my tokens to another wallet?
The Hoot moves with your tokens to the new address. The new owner's hold timer resets to zero. They need to hold for 24 hours to advance to the next stage, just like a fresh mint. But the highest stage the Hoot has ever reached is locked in permanently and never regresses. A Fledgling transferred to a new wallet stays a Fledgling. The new owner just needs to hold another 24 hours to reach Adult.
Can I lose stage progress?
The highest stage ever reached on a Hoot is locked in forever and never regresses. But if you receive a Hoot by transfer, your growth clock starts fresh. You need to hold from where that stage left off to advance further.

Why does my Hoot look like an egg?
Every Hoot starts as an Egg at mint. Traits are sealed inside. Only the body palette color is visible through the shell. Hold for 24 continuous hours to advance to Hatchling.
How do Hoots grow?
Pure time-based holding. 24 hours per stage, same owner, continuous. Egg → Hatchling at 24h, Hatchling → Fledgling at 48h, Fledgling → Adult at 72h. No activity required, no transactions to send.
When do traits reveal?
Progressively by stage. Hatchling reveals the body palette tones. Fledgling unlocks eye color and the beak. Adult reveals everything: head shape variant, tufts, chevrons, and all accessories. The seed is locked at mint; each stage simply shows more of what was always there.
Art & On-Chain
Where is the art stored?
Entirely on Ethereum. No IPFS. No external servers. Every pixel is generated on-chain from a seed locked at mint. Your Hoot exists as long as Ethereum exists.
How are traits determined?
At mint, your Hoot receives a seed derived from block entropy. All traits including palette, head shape, eye color, and accessories are deterministically generated from this seed. The same seed always produces the same Hoot.
Why does the same Hoot look different at different stages?
The traits are always there, just not all rendered yet. The on-chain renderer checks the current stage and draws only what has been unlocked. Egg shows the shell. Adult shows everything. Same seed, different view.
